Introduction
Introduction
Barney (Stallone) is back with his team of tough men, The Expendables! This time, they come
face to face with Conrad Stonebanks
(Gibson) who was one of the co-founder for The Expendables! Currently,
Stonebanks is a war criminal and The Expendables is tasked to capture him.
This time around, Barney
decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era
of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and
more tech-savvy!
The Good
- A movie packed with massive casts and solid actions as expected from “The Expendables” movie.
- Besides cool and well-choreographed action sequences, there are quite a number of cheesy but funny lines which can make you laugh.
- The visuals, sound effects and background music are overall decent.
- Great addition of Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson.
- More kids-friendly compared to the first few movies.
The Bad:
- No-brainer plot. The movie is filled with great actions but not great storyline.
- Inconsistent pacing whereby the joy of watching action scenes is being interrupted by weak and boring scenes.(especially during the middle part of the movie)
- Younger crews for “The Expendables” are lacking of charisma compared to the older crew.
- Toned down brutality – a letdown for the hardcore “The Expendables” fans.
- Deprived of the nostalgic moments resembling 80s classic as seen in previous two films.

Verdict:
This movie deserves a 6.5/10.0!

“The movie is okay but I don’t enjoy it as much as the previous two movies. Mel Gibson is great as the villain though!”– Fellow reviewer, Jose Yap
