Astro Battleground 2013 offers you a Lifetime Opportunity

Kuala Lumpur, 23 July 2013 – Astro Battleground 2013 is looking for a new dance champ, if you have what it takes, you are welcome to take over the stage. For the first time ever Battleground 2013 will crown the best dancer from the winning dance group. We are calling out to all great dancers out there as this is your golden ticket to learn from renowned Japanese instructors and to showcase yourself in an international arena.

Astro Battleground 2013 invites all boys and girls aged 15 years old and above, to take up the challenge as a solo performer. Be it street dance, ballet, ballroom, belly dancing, lyrical, or pole dancing, any genre and every genre, we want them all!
There will be three days of audition, the first audition on 27 July will be held at Han Chiang College, Penang, followed by second audition on 28 July at Skudai Parade, Johor Bahru; the last audition on 3 August will be taking place at Stage Club, Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. All auditions will start from 10.00am until 6.00pm.

Astro Battleground 2013 will fully explore and unleash the dancers’ potential and creativity throughout the three-month competition, enhancing their individual dance styles on the Battleground stage. This year, a show format and content transformation has been made whereby contestants are required to enroll as solo dancers during auditions, following which they will be formed into dance groups by judges based on their potential and dance style.
What’s more, groups that outshine the rest will be flown to Japan for professional choreography training under renowned Japanese instructors. The dance group which shows the least progress in Japan will be eliminated and the remaining groups will return to Malaysia for a Grand Final homecoming battle.

There will also be an impressive line-up of international judges including Masao from Japan, Funky Lia from Korea, and Yiu from Hong Kong. More than five professional instructors from Japan will be guiding the Battleground dance groups until the finals. On top of that, cash and prizes worth approximately RM100,000 will be rewarded to the winners during the Grand Final.
To further elevate Battleground this year, the winning dance group will have to battle their teammates and the dancer who outlasts all his/her teammates will crowned as the champion of the Battleground Solo All Star Dancer 2013.
