The Hippocratic Crush II《On Call 36小时II》Coming Soon in HD To “Astro On Demand HD” on 4th November 2013
Kuala Lumpur 20th October 2013 – “港剧潮流，顶级享受！” In conjunction with the airing of upcoming popular TVB drama “The Hippocratic Crush II” 《On Call 36小时II》 in Astro On Demand this coming 4th November 2013 (On air at the same time with Hong Kong), the casts from the drama including Tavia Yeung杨怡、Lawrence Ng吴启华、Mandy Wong黄智雯 & Benjamin Yuen袁伟豪 have come Malaysia on the past few days (18th October 2013-20th October 2013) to run a 3 days promo!
Press Conference:
The press conference for “The Hippocratic Crush II” (“On Call 36 小时II”) was held at Astro Theater a few days ago (18th October 2013). All the four casts have attended the press conference and shared with the media members regarding their experience and thoughts during the filming process of the second season of The Hippocratic Crush.
First Time For Lawrence and Benjamin to do TVB Promotional Activity in Malaysia! The Casts Love The Malaysia Fans For Being So Supportive!
This is the first time for Lawrence Ng 吴启华 and Benjamin Yuen袁伟豪 to come over for a TVB promotional activity. Both of them were happy to be here because the fans in Malaysia are very friendly to them.
Tavia Yeung 杨怡 even received a gift from her Malaysia fans. It was a Hokkaido Cake. Lawrence Ng吴启华 has the luck to taste the cake too because he was there when she received the cake.
Mandy Wong黄智雯 enjoyed being in Malaysia. This is her second time coming over to Malaysia. She was here for the first time last year for the Astro TVB awards show whereby she has won her first award ever in her acting career. She felt closely connected to Malaysian fans and she felt grateful that the fans here are very supportive.
The Sequel Promises A More Dramatic and Touching Storyline!
During the press conference, all of the media members were given a glimpse on the trailer of this highly anticipated TVB Drama! Through the trailer, we can see that the sequel features a plot which is seemingly more dramatic and interesting. Via the trailer, we can speculate that some of the main characters might be faced with disease or life-threatening situations which will definitely build up the hype for the TVB fans.
In addition, the introduction of the new characters also seems promising enough to spice up the show. The most prominent one is the new character by Lawrence Ng. It has been a long time since Lawrence Ng has filmed for a TVB series. He used to be famous for his role in Healing Hands series as Dr.Paul. This time, he will be taking up the role as a doctor again.
Sharing Of Experience During The Filming Of This Sequel!
One of the main topics during the press conference is about Lawrence Ng’s new character Dr. Lokman.
Lawrence Ng said that this is a new challenge for him because despite acting as a doctor again, Dr.Lokman’s personality is totally opposite of Dr.Paul (from Healing Hands series). He described Dr.Lokman as an introvert person who is a little bit socially isolated. He further elaborated that the character has faced with the death of his loved ones since young. For example, Dr.Lokman’s parents have died in front of him when he was young. Later on in his life, his wife died in front of him again whereby he was the surgeon-in-charge in handling a cardiothoracic surgery for his wife. After these misfortunate events, he changed his course into Pathology. Lokman will also have a relationship with Heung Chin Yi (played by Tracy Chu), who is twenty years his junior.
Throughout the show, he will be having quite a number of interactions with Fan Tze Yu, a.k.a Yu Zai (played by Tavia) because she will be switching her course to Pathology at a certain point in this drama. Tavia has hinted that her character Yu Zai will give up on her studies in cardiothoracic surgery. The main reason is related to her intramedullary spinal cord tumor (which was diagnosed since “The Hippocratic Crush” 1st season) and her complicated pregnancy.
As for Mandy Wong, she mentioned that her character Hung Mei Suet has become a trained and experienced medical officer. During the first season, Yat Kin Tau (played by Kenneth Ma) was the “Hak Min San*” (* means: Very strict person) to the young housemen. But this time around, she will be replacing Yat Kin Tau’s role as a “Hak Min San” to train the newly posted housemen in the hospital. Besides, she also said that, Mei Suet will be having some conflict with Benjamin Yuen’s character in this upcoming season.
Benjamin Yuen then stated that his character, an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ping Chan will be having a struggle in relationship for this upcoming drama. Ping Chan’s ex-girlfriend appears in front of him again one day as a patient in the hospital. He still loves his ex-girlfriend as much as he loves Mei Suet. Thus, this will place him in a love triangle between him, Mei Suet and his ex-girlfriend.
《TVB马来西亚星光荟萃颁奖典礼2013》 announced! The casts hope that “The Hippocratic Crush II” can win in this award show!
One of the most anticipated awards, 《TVB马来西亚星光荟萃颁奖典礼2013》will be held on 1st December 2013. This is the first time for the award to be organized by TVB, supported by Astro as the official media partner, MyFM as the official Radio Station.
Tavia who was the TV Drama Best Actress in Malaysia Astro TVB awards last year was asked by the media members whether she is confident to win the same award again this time. She mentioned that she does not think much of it yet but she really hopes that “The Hippocratic Crush II” can win in this upcoming award. Other casts have voiced the same opinions too.
In addition, Tavia also hoped that she can win The Best On-Screen Couple awards with Kenneth Ma. So, for those of you who love The Hippocratic Crush series, remember to vote for them on November!
The voting period for the awards is from 1st November 2013 to 22nd November 2013, all the audience from Malaysia can visit 《TVB马来西亚星光荟萃颁奖典礼2013》 official website and vote for your favorite drama, artists, variety shows and hosts. This is the first time for the voting to be open for Malaysians’ participation.
