some exciting news to share with you!
From the 27th – 30th March
2014, the Fiesta will be hosting the Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Photography
Competition! It is organised by AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd and sponsored by
Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd.
There are three categories
for the Contest:

Guidelines
Take
a photo during the 6th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta from 27th
- 30th March 2014, according to the category you want to enter (Professional,
Amateur, Best Photo)
Head
to SAMSUNG booth in the RED ZONE and fill up the registration
form.
Select
the photo you want to submit to the personnel in charge together with the
registration form - card readers will be available for your easy submission.

Terms
& Conditions
Putrajaya
Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Photography Contest is organised by AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd
and sponsored by Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd. By participating
in this Contest, you signify your agreement with and understanding of the
following Terms and Conditions –
1.
There are three categories for the Contest, namely Professional, Amateur and
Best Photo Category -
(a)
For Professional category, it is open to individual aged 18 and above with the
theme of “Larger than Life”;
(b)
As for Amateur category, it is open to individual aged 21 and below with the
theme of “Colouring the Sky”;
(c)
For Best Photo category, it is open to individual of all ages for
participation.
2.
The image must be captured between 27th to 30th March 2014 and must be submitted
to the Organiser no later than 2nd April 2014 23:59:59 (11.59pm).
3.
All entries must be of JPEG image with a maximum size of 5 megabytes
4.
Employees of AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd, Samsung, and its subsidiaries and affiliates
and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, siblings, and their
respective spouses, regardless where they live) or person living in the same
household such employees, whether or not related are not eligible.
5.
Participant is entitled to maximum of three (3) entries for Professional and
Amateur categories.
6.
The Participant is only allowed to have one (1) submission for the Best Photo
category.
7.
The Participant is only eligible to win one (1) prize regardless of number of
entries.
8.
Winners and judging criteria -
(a)
Entries will be judged by the appointed panel of judges against criteria
including but not limited to aesthetic, technical execution, image quality and
appropriateness to and interpretation of the contest theme.
(b)
The Organiser’s decision is FINAL. No correspondence or any other form of
communication regarding the Contest will be entertained.
(c)
The Organiser reserves the right to shortlist and display the submitted image.
The shortlisting decision is final and no correspondence or any other form of
communication regarding the decision will be entertained.
(d)
By summiting an entry, each entrant agrees to the official rules and warrants
that his or her entry complies with all requirements set out in the Official
Rules. This is skill-based contest and chance plays no part in determination of
winners.
9.
All Prizes are neither returnable nor exchangeable for cash and/or other kind.

Selection of winners will be at the sole discretion of the Organiser -
(a)
The Organiser reserves the right to shortlist and display images. The
shortlisting decision is final and no correspondence or any other form of
communication regarding the decision will be entered into.
(b)
Selected image will be displayed on www.myballoonfiesta.com. If an image is
displayed and announced, it has been shortlisted by the judging panel and is
eligible to win a prize in its respective category;
(c)
The winners’ list will be published through the Organiser’s website and
Facebook. All details of the prizes and in particular the terms of their
attribution and use will be provided by notification to the winners. In the
email to the winner, some information may be requested in order to enable the
delivery of the prize. In the event that the winner does not provide the
requested information, a reminder will be sent by email. Should the winner fail
to respond to the reminder email by providing all requested information within
twenty-four (24) hours, the prize shall, to the extent permitted by applicable
law, be automatically forfeited by the Organiser and AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd and
Samsung reserves its right to grant the prize to another qualified winner.
(d)
Personal details will not be shared with any third party and information will
not be used for any other purpose than to contact individuals with matters
arising from the contest.
(e)
In the event a winner fails to respond within forty-eight (48) hours after
notification of winning or is otherwise disqualified from the Contest, that
prize will be withdrawn and awarded to the next qualified winner.
(f)
Any taxes applicable to the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
(g)
No interest will be paid on any prize. Prizes may not be transferred.
(h)
The Organiser reserves its sole right and discretion to (a) award an
alternative prize of an equal or greater value and (b) in exceptional
circumstances to vary, amend or withdraw this competition on reasonable notice.
(i)
The Organiser reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any
individual found tampering with the Contest process or the operation of the
Contest.
(j)
Winners may be required to take part in post-event publicity, and agree that
their full name and/or their photos to be published by AKA Balloon and Samsung
in any related publicity materials.
(k)
Winners are bound by the “Terms and Conditions” that come with the prizes. The
acceptance of the prize indicates the acknowledgment and agreement of such
“Terms and Conditions.”
(l)
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser does not accept any
responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any
Participant entering the Contest or as a result of non-allocation or acceptance
of any prize. AKA Balloon and Samsung is not responsible for any problems or
technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line
systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any
email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic
congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any
combination thereof, including any injury or damage to the Participant’s or any
other person's computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from
participation or downloading any materials in relation to the Contest.
(m)
By participating in the Contest, you agree that no claim shall be asserted
against AKA Balloon and Samsung and its parent companies, partners or
affiliates or any of their respective directors, officers, employees or agents
in respect of any and all losses or injuries (including without limitation to
special, indirect or consequential losses), damages, rights, claims or actions
of any kind whatsoever that result from your participation to the Contest
and/or non-allocation of any prize and/or your acceptance or use of any prize.
11.
Image ownership and intellectual property
(a)
By submitting an image, the Participant attests that he or she produces the
image and is the rightful owner to the copyright of the image. Participants who
submit images not belonging to them will be disqualified from the Contest.
(b)
By submitting an image, the Participant agrees to grant AKA Balloon and Samsung
and its affiliates a limited license for free to use the image in relation to
promotion of the Contest and any future Contests, including publication online,
in print, on television, within Malaysia and internationally.
(c)
By submitting an image, the Participant attests that the image is not subject
to any form of existing exclusive commercial or editorial license.
(d)
Image’s rights remain the property of the Participant.
12.
Final notes
(a)
The Organiser reserves its sole right and discretion to delete, remove, ignore
or reject photos/entries that are deemed improper or offensive in any manner,
or which violate the “Terms and Conditions” herein.
(b)
The Organiser’s decision shall be FINAL. No correspondence or any other form of
communication regarding the Contest will be entertained.
(c)
The Organiser’s reserves the right to change these “terms and Condition” at any
time without notice to the Participants therefore the Participants are
responsible to read and update themselves of these Terms and Conditions
regularly. Continued participation of this Contest following any such changes shall
constitute the Participant’s acceptance of such changes.
