VS SPY’ AT DEWAN FILHARMONIK PETRONAS!
Kuala Lumpur, February 2016 – The
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is proud to welcome back Grammy
Award winning conductor Arnie Roth
back to the podium of Dewan Filharmonik
PETRONAS (DFP) to conduct two sets of concerts this month.
The
first set of concerts are themed Spy VS
Spy on Friday, 19 February 2016
and Saturday, 20 February 2016 at 8.30
p.m. Get ready for the sound of thrilling adventures, of clandestine
agreements and dangerous affairs. These not-to-be-missed concerts will witness
the MPO demonstrating its musicianship via an exciting program featuring themes
from iconic movie such as Mission
Impossible, Charade, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Austin Powers and The Pink Panther.
The
MPO will also present The Best Of Bond
composed by John Barry featuring
songs from James Bond movies such as
Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only,
Thunderball, Goldfinger and Diamonds
Are Forever.
This

the way, Roth was also the Music Director and conductor of the concert tours of
Dear Friends: music From FINAL FANTASY, VOICES: music From FINAL FANTASY and PLAY!
A Video Game Symphony.
He
won the Best Score Award at the 2003 DVD Premier Awards for his score for the
film Barbie as Rapunzel and was
nominated for an Emmy in 2007 for his original song Shine from the movie Barbie
in The Twelve Dancing Princesses. He performs across a wide array of musical
genres with a host of artists such as Il Divo, Diana Ross, Jewel, The Three
Tenors, Josh Groban, Branford Marsalis, Peter Cetera and Andrea Bocelli.
Amongst the prominent ensembles that he has collaborated with include the Tokyo
and London Philharmonics, and the BBC, Sydney, Atlanta and Dallas
Symphonies.
Roth
will also lead some musicians from the MPO in a concert themed A New World; intimate music from FINAL
FANTASY on Sunday, 21 February 2016
at 3.00 p.m.
This
special concert will feature music from over 25 years of the FINAL FANTASY catalogue in fresh
arrangements for ensembles of winds, strings and percussions in smaller groups.
