Improved On Demand Experience

chance to attend the press conference on Astro
new and improved On Demand (OD) experience.

With this
new update, it will come with a recommendation
feature which enables customers to personalize their TV viewing experience
and easier access to the full On Demand catalogue. This update includes a
richer content choice from across the globe including an expanded OD content
library line-up!
During
the press conference, Wong Siah Ping,
Vice President, Chinese Customer Business, Astro mentioned, “Today, our On
Demand offering is becoming an increasingly popular way for customers to watch
what they want anytime, anywhere, by offering volumes of amazing TV series,
movies and entertainment.”
“Astro
has over 350,000 connected boxes to date and more of our customers are
connecting their PVRs to watch OD.
With the personalized recommendations update for the OD, recommending
programmes that our customers actually want to watch, we expect to see an
increase in OD viewing. On Demand customers have increased more than two folds
since last year and this shows that Malaysians want to customize their
entertainment experience to fit their lifestyle needs,” added Siah Ping.
Exclusive On Demand Series! Ease Binge Watch!
You can
now catch weekly episodes of period drama Chronicle
of Love (starring Zheng Shuang), Music variety – I Can Hear Your Voice, romantic comedy – Refresh Man (starring Aaron Yan) and drama series –Pretty Wife (starring Li Xiao Ran) on Astro channels. In
addition to that, you can also opt for a binge
watch of the complete series via this new On Demand Experience. This would be possible as the complete season
of these titles will now be available on OD
after the premiere of the first episode on Astro Channels.
Apart
from that, this new update also allows the customers to catch the complete box sets of popular Korean dramas such
as Entertainer, Jackpot, Please Come
Back Mister and more as well as every episode and every season of worldwide hit programmes like Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, VEEP and
more are available on OD.
Same Day Content From Across The Globe!

There’s even more first and exclusive content from US and UK as well as Korea, China, Taiwan and Singapore. Astro will be offering more
exciting TV Series the same day as Taiwan such as, Swimming Battle, Better Man, Hokkien series – Romance of Sisters and same day as Singapore drama, The Dream Job!
Astro
also continues to bring the latest TVB
dramas the same time as Hong Kong via
On Demand with popular titles like House Of Spirits and Between Love and Desire.
Of
course, fans of Korean dramas would not miss out on new series including the
latest and popular drama titles like Uncontrollably
Fond, currently airing dramas Doctors
and W which air on the same day
as Korea.
The
press conference was also graced by two of the casts from The Dream Job, Zhang Zhenhuan and Romeo Tan whereby they shared more with us regarding their roles in
the drama.

New Immersive User Interface!
During
the press conference, host Vivienne have
demonstrated to us the latest On Demand
user interface. This is the most significant update as it introduces a recommendation feature via “TV Shows for you” and “Movies for you” where the services
learns your favourite programmes and recommends similar content for you to
watch offering a truly personalized viewing experience. This recommendation
will suggest shows that you actually want to watch and no two Astro homes will see the same content
on this screen!
Besides,
On Demand’s updated User Interface is designed to allow quick access to full On Demand Catalogue on screen by just
choosing “On Demand” in the “Home” menu, making the most use of
channel logos, show poster-art in a modern and sleek design.
On
Demand is available to all Astro
Customers. Simply connect your Personal
Video Recorder (PVR) to your home Wi-Fi
or watch OD on your screen of
choice via Astro On The Go (AOTG). The
latest User Interface will be automatically downloaded to all Astro PVRs in phases and customers are
advised leave their PVRs on standby
