Chit Chat Session with Lee Pei Ling!
After
the wonderful performance by Jeryl,
the host emcee of the day, Natalie
interviewed her on stage.
What’s your greatest impression regarding Na
Ying, your mentor during the show?
She is
a very nice person. She told me that I shouldn’t be too rushing and just take
it slow.
Is Na Ying someone who is very strict or even
fierce to the mentee?
Nope.
Definitely not. She is very nice and friendly to us.
How do you feel now? Do you think that the
time passes very fast during the competition?
Well,
initially I was very nervous. I didn’t expect that I could go so far in the
competition. Whatever happens now is something out of my initial expectation.
So, is there any changes after you came back
from the competition? Can you adapt to it?
Previously,
I did come back to my school once. There were other students who want to take
photo with me. I am alright with it. But personally I felt that school is a
place for us to be more relaxed. If there are too many strangers asking me to
take photo, I would feel unnatural.
The
contest allowed me to learn a lot and meet a lot of new friends. Even now I am
still in touch with the other contestants.
What’s your future plans? Do you plan to take
part in any other singing competition again?
I am
actually interested to take part in another singing competition 2 years later
because the contest is only open to 18 years and above.
What’s your ambition apart from singing?
My ambition
is actually to become a fashion designer. I have thought of continue on with
singing and also have my own brand. But I think at the moment I will try to
focus on music first.
If any recording label wants to sign you up,
what would you do?
If the
condition is good, I would consider that.
Last
but not least, Jeryl thanked her
mother for always being supportive. Her mother will always call her up and
concern regarding her health during the competition period. She is very happy
to bring her parents to see her LIVE in China.
Apart
from that, she also thanked her principal for always supporting her. The
principal always encourage her to go for singing competition.
It was
really great to see such a young and talented singer originating from our own
country. You made us proud, Jeryl. All the best in your music career!
