Kuala Lumpur, November 2016 – .Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016 (Astro國際華裔小姐競選 2016) grand finale happened last month on 29th October 2016, 8.30pm at
Mega Star Arena. 8 finalists have
competed to crown as the beauty queen. Our website wljack.com has been given a
chance to attend and witness the born of Miss
Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016 LIVE!
Themed
as #notjustapageantgirl, MACIP 2016 features
eight versatile finalists with finest attributes, they are namely No.1 Serene Lim (20, Perak), No.2
Jacqueline Tiang (24, Pahang), No.3 Law Annie (25, KL), No.4 Show Shi Hui (22,
Johor), No.5 Michele Ong (23, Penang), No.6 Kendra Sow (23, Pahang), No.7
Serene Chai (22, Johor) and No.8
Bella Chee (21, Penang).
The
competition finale this time has invited Hong Kong Actor Bob Lam 林盛斌 and My FM Jeff Chin 陈浩然 as the hosts. Both of them have great chemistry and they have brought in
many laughter for the audiences.
On the judge panels, it comprises prominent figures and heavyweights such
as pageant alumni, Lynn Lim 林佩盈 (First Runner Up of MACIP in 2000),
Rachel Tan 陈泳锦 (Champion of MACIP in 2002 & Champion of Miss Chinese International
Pageant 2003), Jojo Goh 吴俐璇 (Second Runner Up of MACIP in 2006), radio and TV
personalities Jack Lim 林德荣, Wong Chui Ling王翠玲, Venice Min陈慧敏 & CEO of Adonis Group, Ann Lee. Last but not least, TVB beauty
queen-turned-actress Grace Chan 陈凯琳 was also invited as the special judge to add glitz to this glamourous
beauty pageant.
Juwei was also invited to perform her song 白色外套 on stage!
Swimwear and Cheongsam Sessions marked the peak of the Grand Finale!
Serene Lim林宣妤 Crowned As The
Beauty Queen!
Serene Lim林宣妤 stood out in the grand finale and crowned the
Champion of Miss Astro Chinese
International Pageant 2016. Apart from being the champion, she has also won
the Photogenic Award (最上镜小姐) and Ms Gorgeous (全民女神). She’s really
amazing!
The 1st
runner up was crowned by Jacqueline who
has also won the Body Beautiful Award (完美体态小姐) while 2nd runner up
was won by Bella who is the tallest
among the 8 finalists. Kendra on the
other hand won the 4th Place
in MACIP 2016.
Serene Lim will be competing in Miss Chinese International Pageant 2017. Let’s hope for the best
and wish that she can crown as the beauty queen again at the international
stage!
Post Event Interview:
The top
3 finalists alongside HK Actor Bob and
Grace Chan have been invited for the
media interview.
Bella mentioned that she was very surprised with
the outcome and she was very happy. Jacqueline
also expressed her happiness for being the 1st runner up and she
wanted to thank Miss Astro Chinese
International Pageant for the opportunity.
Serene Lim said that it was like a dream come
true for her as she used to watch Miss
Astro Chinese International Pageant with her siblings. She felt that her
hard work over the past few months have paid off. She has learnt to overcome a
lot of her fears throughout the competition.
Grace Chan mentioned that the top 3 finalist
results are as what she has expected.
She felt that the three of them have performed really well.
Bob Lam said that the finalists’ qualities are
very up to standard. He felt that Serene
Lim looked a bit like Angelababy.
