Genting Highlands, December 2016 - In
conjunction with the upcoming “Miss
Chinese International Pageant 2017”, Resorts
World Genting together with organizer of Miss Chinese International Pageant, Television Broadcast Limited (TVB) has
organized a press conference a few days ago to announce their wonderful
collaboration and also the exciting run up to the pageant scheduled for 15th January 2017 at Resorts World Genting.

The
event was graced by Mr Kevin Tann, Vice
President, Promotion & Entertainment of Resorts World Genting and Mr Felix To, Deputy General Manager
Programming & Production of Television Broadcast Limited (TVB) as well as attendance
from Malaysia including Miss Astro 2016 Miss, Serene Lim, Miss
Chinese International 2013 1st runner up and Miss Astro 2012, Denise
Tan plus celebrities from Hong Kong including Grace Chan (Miss Hong Kong 2013 and Miss Chinese International 2014),
Mandy Wong, Koni Lui, Ashley Chu, Sisley Choi, Moon Lau, Fred Cheng and Brian Tse.
First Time For Such A Grand Event To Be
Held At Genting Highlands!
Prior
to the speeches, all of the media members and audiences from the floor were
amazed by the powerful introduction video of Genting Highlands.
Mr Kevin Tann said
during the press conference, “Having hosted many top artistes for concerts and
shows for many decades now, Resort World
Genting is proud to collaborate with TVB
in making “Resorts World Genting
Presents: Miss Chinese International Pageant 2017” a reality in Malaysia.”
“The
event is one of the largest international beauty pageants and it will no doubt
add to the glamour and excitement created by the latest developments at Resort World Genting where
international brands namely The
Twentieth Century Fox World Theme Park and many more will make their debut
soon at the Resort” mentioned by Mr Kevin Tann.
Mr Felix To, also
expressed TVB’s excitement having the opportunity to host pageant at Resorts World Genting. He said ‘We are
looking forward to have all the contestants from all over the world to compete
for the crown at Resorts World Genting.
We believe that all contestants will gain an unforgettable and enjoyable
experience at the Resort and also in
Malaysia.’
Contestants
from all around the world will be featured, including the young ladies from the
US, Canada, Australia, South Africa and
Asian cities. They will compete for
the Miss Chinese International 2017
Crown as well as the First and Second Runner-Up spots and the titles of Miss Friendship 2017.
Different
countries and regions will be represented at the beauty pageant, yet all of
them sharing a common Chinese heritage and culture. Serene Lim (Miss Astro Chinese International 2016) will be
representing Malaysia while Crystal Fung
will be representing Hong Kong.
Malaysia Is The Home For Miss Chinese
International 2017! Advantage for Malaysian Representative?
During
the press conference, Mr Kevin Tann mentioned
that perhaps holding the contest in Malaysia would be an advantage for Serene Lim just like how it usually
would for other sports like football.
Serene Lim was
also happy to know that Miss Chinese
International 2017 would be held in Malaysia next year. This is an
advantage for her because her family and friends can be there to support her at
our own country. In order to prepare herself for the competition, she’s taking
up many lessons to further improve herself in her catwalk and speaking skills.
Grace Chan who
was also the judge for the recent Miss
Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016 complimented Serene Lim for being a very attractive lady and she has high
expectation from her.
In addition, other celebrities who were
present at the press conference also gave some words of encouragement as well
as tips for the pageant to Serene Lim.
Sisley has shared on how she made herself
less nervous last time.
A Global Platform For Beauty Showcase!
Miss Chinese International Pageant is the
pinnacle of beauty pageants for the global Chinese community. The competition
of international stature is enriched by the diversity of its participants and
offers a global platform for young Chinese women to showcase the very essence
of beauty, wisdom and compassion. Over the past decade, the pageant has
produced many successful and well-known women of talents including Michelle Reis, Anita Yuen, Christy Chung and
Linda Chung.
Top Notch Judges For The Pageant!
Amongst
the prominent judges at the competition that evening is Malaysia’s very own, Tan Sri Dato’ Michelle Yeoh. Michelle Yeoh, who is also the brand
ambassador of Resorts World Genting hopes
her presence will inspire all contestants. The dynamic lady who was Miss Malaysia 1983 and voted as one of
the “50 Most Beautiful People In The
World” by “People” in 1997,
found fame in Hong Kong and was also the only Asian Bond Girl.
It was
also hinted during the press conference that another renowned celebrity will
also be the judge for the pageant, Simon
Yam. The famous Hong Kong veteran actor was hinted to be another judge for
the pageant.
Currently,
apart from planning the grand spectacular event, the organizers are also
preparing all contestants to be in Hong Kong as early as possible for an
intensive training. All contestants will arrive in Malaysia and at Resorts
World Genting during their last stage of the program, just before the pageant
takes place.
The
competition will be held at Arena Of
Stars on 15th January
2017, 8pm. Tickets are on sale
at RM 988 for PS2 Tickets and RM 1988 for
PS1 Tickets.
