The
show kicks off with the world premiere of a Malaysian work entitled Mercu
Kegemilangan composed by Vivian Chua. The musical work fuses Malaysian
themes with the Western classical form and harmony. It is a lovely piece.
Following
that, the audiences were mesmerized with the four movement composition of Beethoven’s Symphony No.7. It was a
remarkable performance.
Those
who loves string orchestra would have been astounded by Toru Takemitsu’s Requiem for String Orchestra, that synthesizes both
Western and Oriental Esthetics and Techniques.
The highlight of the day, Tengku Irfan’s
Magnificent Performance!
At the
age of 19, Tengku Irfan’s has proven
himself as being a virtuoso to the world with his great talents in piano play,
conducting and composing. His appearance in DFP was fueled with overwhelming charisma.
And of
course, his performance for Beethoven
Piano Concerto No.5 was totally glorious and fantastic!
Overall,
we really enjoyed the show! It was great! There will be even more spectacular
shows coming up at Dewan Filharmonik
Petronas!
