[Press Conference] Bona
Cinemas @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting
Genting Highlands, March 2018 – A few weeks ago, it was a
historical day for Bona Film Group
as their Chairman and General Manager of the board, Mr Yu Dong came personally from China for the Press Conference of Bona Cinemas @ Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands. He
also attended the special screening of
Operation Red Sea and the opening of
Bona Cinemas, their first cinema outside of China at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.
The Opening Of Bona Cinemas Outside of
China!
During
the press conference, it was attended by Mr
Yu Dong himself alongside Mr Dante
Lam, the director of Operation Red
Sea and Miss Candy Leung, the
producer of Operation Red Sea.
Bona Film is now one of China’s largest film
distributors, having produced and distributed over 220 domestic and
international films with a cumulative box office of almost CNY200 billion (approximately
MYR123 billion),
including many familiar titles like The Taking of Tiger Mountain (智取威虎山),
The Grandmaster (一代宗师), Flying Swords of Dragon Gate (龙门飞甲),
Red Cliff (赤壁),
Dragon Tiger Gate (龙虎门) and Confession of Pain (伤城).
It is such a great pleasure to finally have a Bona Cinema being set up here in Malaysia!
During
the press conference, Mr Yu Dong has
shared with us regarding how delightful he was, to be able to collaborate with
Resorts World Genting. He also
shared with us regarding the further plans of inclusion of IMAX Hall for the Bona
Cinema in Sky Avenue Genting Highlands.
Besides that, Mr Yu Dong also
hoped to collaborate with Resorts World
Genting to create a Bona Film Theme
Park. You can expect to see the scenes of Operation Red Sea and Operation
Mekong in the form of theme park attractions.
Impressed with
Malaysians Filming Crews!
Mr Dante Lam and Miss Candy Leung praised Malaysian
Film Crews for being very dedicated to their work and have high tolerance.
Both of them have worked with Malaysian crews for many of their films and they
were really impressed with the Malaysian crews’ attitude. In fact, they
mentioned that a lot of the crews behind the scene for Operation Red Sea are consisted of crews from Malaysia!
Addressing to the suggestions and questions
by the media members of the floor, three of them said that they would be
interested to have more future cooperation with Malaysian filmmakers. If
possible, they also hope can bring Malaysian films to the China Market in the
future.
After
the press conference, Mr Yu Dong, Mr Dante
Lam and Miss Candy Leung have
proceeded with the opening of Bona
Cinema at Sky Avenue Genting Highlands as well as the special screening of Operation Red Sea.
