[Coverage] Maximus Musicus
Visits The Orchestra @ Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS
Kuala Lumpur, June 2018 – It was a fun family day at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS last weekend
with the concert of “Maximus Musicus
Visits The Orchestra”. (Check out my previous article on this show http://www.wljack.com/2018/05/upcoming-event-maximus-musicus-visits.html)
A Fun-filled Orchestra for Families With
Children!
This
was a really fun and entertaining concert especially for those audiences who
came with their kids. This show featured Korean-American conductor, Gene Chang who is well known for his
passionate approach to music and Yasmin
Yusuff (Miss Malaysia 1978) as the narrator that lead the audiences along
the journey with Maximus Musicus.
A joyful ride with familiar classics!
The
show features many classic pieces that are popular through centuries,
well-loved and no strangers to us like Mozart’s
Abduction from the Seraglio, Ravel’s Bolero, Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony
No.5, Stravinsky’s The Firebird: Infernal Dance, Rossini’s William Tell:
Finale, Grieg’s ‘Peer Gynt’ Suite No.1, Op.46: 1. Morning Mood, Strauss’s
Radetzky March and Olafsdottir’s
Maxi’s Song.
All
these musical masterpieces were introduced as we progress along the story with Maximus Musicus. To make the story more
intriguing, the orchestra also produced sound effects as Maxi explored different instruments. All of these created a comical
atmosphere which has brought a lot of laughter to the younger audiences. In
addition to that, Yasmin Yusuff’s narration
was also very remarkable. She was able to deliver the story very interestingly
and manage to captivate the audiences.
Of
course, the adventure was more joyful and exciting with the enthusiasm shown by
Gene Chang. He was thoughtful and
energetic. We really enjoyed the moment when he involved the audiences in
clapping along to Strauss’s Radetzky
March.
Overall,
it was really a jolly time at “Maximus
Musicus Visits The Orchestra” and I am sure it has made a lot of the
children audiences to fall in love with music!
