Lim Yong Huat林永发 who was the champion of the night expressed that he initially thought he
could only make it to 2nd runner-up. The outcome was a surprise to
him as he felt that all of the other contestants were very good. When asked
about his secret key to success, he said that it would be due to his passion
and indulgence in singing. Regarding how he would spend his prize money, he
planned to bring his family for a trip. However, he hasn’t decided the
destination yet.
As for the 1st runner up, Yap Yoon Cheong 叶永忠 also said that he didn’t
expect himself to make it to the top 3. He was very happy with the outcome and
he said that he cried when the result was announced. Zhao Dong Ming赵东明 who was the 2nd runner-up on the other hand felt very grateful
to be able to take part in the competition which is away from his own country.
Apart from that,
we also managed to interview Sally Yeh葉蒨文 post-event. She highlighted that the standard
of the contestants for this competition were very high. She was impressed with
their performances. Post-interview, she has shared some words of motivation and
advices with the winners.
