[Press Conference Coverage] Press Conference of “Thai Film Festival in Malaysia 2019” (From 21-27 March 2019)
Kuala Lumpur, March 2019- Following the successful first Thai Film Festival in 2017 by Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, the “Thai Film Festival in Malaysia 2019” is making a comeback and scheduled to take place on 21 – 27 March 2019. The main aim of the project is to promote people – people contact and cultural understanding between the peoples of our two countries.
This year, the festival will feature seven Thai films, namely, “Bikeman” (comedy), “Premika” (horror/comedy), “Homestay” (drama, fantasy, thriller), “2,215” (documentary), “The Promise” (horror), “APP War” (comedy, drama, romance)”, and “The Pool” (thriller) at four cinemas - GSC Pavilion KL, GSC 1 Utama, GSC Mid Valley, and Gurney Plaza, Penang, with a total of 51 screenings.
The biggest highlight is that, all of the screenings during the festival are FREE! To redeem the free tickets, just present a printout or take a snapshot of any Thai Film Festival in Malaysia 2019 photo or articles in any publication, online postings from Thai Trends in Malaysia facebook fanpage (https://web.facebook.com/TTMMalaysia/) or GSC digital channels and get 2 complimentary tickets at one of the above-mentioned GSC ticketing counters. The tickets redemption will be on a same-day basis which is the on same day with the chosen show time.
A reception and a special screening of “Bikeman” will be held on 23 March 2019 at GSC Pavilion 6th Floor, Hall 3, from 13.00 hrs onwards. Distinguished guests, including Thai and Malaysian celebrities and film directors, will attend the event. There will also be an interview session with director and leading casts of Bikeman (Mr. Prueksa Amaruji, director, Mr. Pachara Chirathivat, leading actor, and Ms. Sananthachat Thanapatpisal, leading actress) before the screening. This event is by invitation only.
Earlier on 23 March 2019 from 10.30 to 11.30 hrs, the leading stars of Bikeman will give Malaysian fans an opportunity to get up close during a meet and greet event at ACME Bar & Coffee, 3rd Floor, Pavilion KL. There will be games, photo opportunities and autograph session. This event is free and open to everyone. The first 100 registered participants will receive signed autographs from the casts.
During the press conference, the media members have asked whether the Thai Film Festival will become an annual event. The possibilities is there if it receives a good feedback and response this year!
This year, they are also inviting the Malaysian local film makers for some experience sharing sessions. If it works well, they are thinking of organizing film making workshop in the future Thai Film Festival.
