Kuala Lumpur, January 2023 - Kenny Gorelick, better known as Kenny
G, rose to international stardom in the 1980s with "smooth
jazz" ballads such as "Songbird" and "Silhouette."
He is still the best-selling instrumentalist of the modern era, adored by
legions of fans all over the world over the last three decades.
And now for the good news! Kenny G, the Grammy-winning saxophonist,
has added Malaysia to his World Tour schedule and will perform a solo concert
on 2nd April 2023 Sunday at 6pm at the Arena of Stars,
Resorts World Genting.
The musician, 66, has religiously practised the saxophone for up to
four hours a day, every day, since becoming a household name in the 1980s.
Kenny has remained active in the music industry and in touch with fans. In
addition to his numerous tour dates, Kenny released a new album called "New
Standards" in 2021, which features 11 original compositions inspired
by Jazz Ballads from the 1950s and 1960s. In recent years, he has stayed
current through unexpected music collaborations with megastar artists Kanye
West and The Weeknd, which have attracted and appealed to newer fans.
Kenny G has once again demonstrated his unrivalled popularity and how
his music has remained relevant for so long with a music documentary "Listening
to Kenny G," which was specially crafted and filmed to feature his
unconventional journey to the top, his legacy in music, and the feathers he's
ruffled along the way. The film, which debuted on HKB, also details his
upbringing in Seattle and the massive success of hit songs such as Silhouette,
Songbird, and Sentimental.
Kenny G, the man who made saxophone playing sexy and charmed many fans with
his music, is set to serenade the audience with a set of his hit classics, and
his superb showmanship and technical skills promise to be a splendid music
feast for fans.
