Jack Tan Embarks on Another Journey to Explore New Villages

Kuala Lumpur, 2023 - The second season of the humanistic food documentary series "Journey To Homeland," co-produced by 8TV and Tonton, has officially started filming. Jack Tan (陳哲耀) once again serves as the host of the show, embarking on a new exploration journey. Starting from the Kampung Baru Jinjang where he grew up in Kuala Lumpur, he will travel north, south, and beyond, leading the audience to discover the beauty of Malaysia's new villages!

The filming for the second season of "Journey To Homeland" took place in Kepong on 26th July 2023 accompanied by a media preview event. Jack Tan was present and interviewed by the media, sharing insights from filming and behind-the-scenes stories. Despite his busy schedule, Jack Tan insisted on taking up the hosting role, jokingly mentioning that he was already 'ready' and only waiting for the show to invite him. "The response after the first season was aired was tremendous, so I am really looking forward to the second season. I even told the company that if the production team contacts me, I'll make time for them!" He mentioned visiting various places for shooting in the past couple of days, saying, "The most memorable experience was at the bak kut teh (pork rib soup) shop near my house, a shop I've known since I was a child. It felt really amazing! We also interviewed the lion dance troupe and paper craft masters here, collecting some stories." When asked about his improvement as a host, he humbly responded, "I won't claim to be excellent, but the behind-the-scenes team has helped me a lot. They've prepared ample information, coupled with enthusiastic interviewees. Sometimes I only say a sentence, and they give ten in return."

On the other hand, Jack Tan, who gained weight due to film work, was "accused" of having a hunched posture during the shoot. He admitted that it was due to his unconscious laziness, saying, "I've gone from 67 kilograms to 80 kilograms, and I haven't exercised for four to five months. Although I'm a bit concerned about how I look on camera, I haven't watched the playback. I have full confidence in the production team!" Additionally, Jack Tan was the first to reveal the upcoming shooting itinerary to the media, expressing excitement, "After Jinjang, we'll head north to Kedah and Perlis. The more exciting part is that we'll be exploring caves, giving a sense of adventure that aligns well with my preferences!"

The second season of "Journey To Homeland" is expected to air in the first half of next year. The show will continue the format of the previous season, focusing on Malaysian new villages, delving into the hidden food and craftsmanship within Chinese new villages. It will also use the lens to introduce the development, customs, and traditions of various new villages. Host Jack Tan will interact with local residents, gather more stories about the area, and even participate in local activities such as fruit picking and handicrafts, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the local cultural background.

  Jack陈泽耀再度启程，探索新村之美

由八度空间和Tonton共同制作的人文美食纪录片《新村之后》第二季近日正式开启拍摄。Jack陈泽耀（阿哲）再次担任节目主持人，开展崭新的探索之旅。他将从自己成长的吉隆坡增江新村出发，途经北方和南方，引领观众一同发现马来西亚新村的魅力！

《新村之后》第二季的拍摄在吉隆坡甲洞文物馆进行，7月26日举行了媒体探班活动。Jack陈泽耀亲自接受了媒体的采访，分享了拍摄的体验和幕后故事。尽管近期工作繁忙，Jack陈泽耀仍然坚持担任主持人，开玩笑地表示自己早已“准备就绪”，只等待节目组的邀请。“第一季节目播出后反响非常强烈，因此我非常期待第二季的到来。我甚至告诉公司，只要节目组需要我，我就会为他们腾出时间！”他提到近几天的多地拍摄，“最深刻的印象来自我家附近的肉骨茶店，那是我从小就认识的店家，感觉非常棒！我们还采访了当地的醒狮团和纸扎师傅，收集了一些故事。”在被问及主持表现是否有所提升时，他谦虚地回应：“我不敢自夸表现有多好，但幕后团队为我提供了很多帮助。他们准备了充足的资料，再加上热情洋溢的受访者，有时我只说一句话，他们就会讲出十句。”

另一方面，因电影工作而增重的Jack陈泽耀，拍摄期间还被“指责”出现驼背的姿势。他承认这是自己不自觉的懒散体态，表示：“我体重从67公斤增加到现在的80公斤，已经有四到五个月没有运动了。虽然我稍微担心上镜效果，但我并没有观看拍摄回放，我对制作团队充满信心！”此外，Jack陈泽耀率先向媒体透露了接下来的拍摄行程，并满怀期待地说：“增江之后，我们会北上到吉打和玻璃市。最令人兴奋的部分是我们将进入山洞进行探索，仿佛充满了探险的感觉，这正好符合我的兴趣！”
