From its humble beginnings as a passion project by fans, for fans, ANIMANGAKI has evolved into one of Malaysia's most anticipated and celebrated annual gatherings of like-minded enthusiasts. This year, as ANIMANGAKI reaches its 15th milestone, get ready to immerse yourself in a galaxy of entertainment, creativity, and camaraderie, all under the banner of "A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away."
A Haven for All Things ACG:
ANIMANGAKI is more than just an event; it's a vibrant and diverse community that bridges the gap between cultures and fandoms. With a track record of delivering exciting and engaging content, the event has garnered a dedicated following that eagerly anticipates its return year after year.
Set to take place from 25th August 2023-25th August 2023 at the Mines Convention Centre, ANIMANGAKI 2023 is expanding its horizons with several new changes that are sure to enhance the attendee experience. This year, the convention has been extended to three full days, giving fans even more time to indulge in their favorite activities. To ensure maximum comfort, a Makan Corner has been added for attendees to dine in without missing out on any of the action. The Panel room has been upgraded to a more spacious setting, accommodating a larger audience, and both the Artist and Cosplay Alleys have been expanded to accommodate more booths and talents.
A Multitude of Experiences:
ANIMANGAKI is known for its jam-packed schedule of diverse activities that cater to every facet of the ACG world. The convention floor comes alive with creativity, offering attendees a chance to explore:
1. Artist Alley: Showcasing the talents of over 250 artists, the Artist Alley offers a treasure trove of unique creations, handmade crafts, and opportunities to connect with the artists themselves.
2. Cosplay Alley: A paradise for cosplayers and enthusiasts, this alley features 88 of the top cosplayers from Southeast Asia, providing fans with the chance to meet their favorite characters and creators up close.
3. Exhibitor Booths: From products and services to merchandise and education institutions, the exhibitor booths (80 in total) cover a wide spectrum of interests within the ACG realm.
4. Carnival Games: Test your luck and skills at various carnival games to win exciting rewards and prizes.
5. VTuber Showcase: Dive into the world of virtual entertainment with 100 Malaysian VTubers, who will bring their computer-generated avatars to life through captivating performances and interactions.
6. Panel & Workshop: ANIMANGAKI isn't just about play; it's also an educational hub where attendees can learn new skills, get inspired by talks, and even meet special guests in person.
7. F&B Vendor: Satisfy your taste buds with a delectable array of food and beverages right in the heart of the event.
8. Maid Cafe & Concafe: Step into fantasy as two themed cafes, Anone Anone and ICU Concafe, serve up delightful treats and unforgettable entertainment experiences.
9. Cosplay Competition: Witness the embodiment of beloved characters as contestants showcase their skit performances for a chance to win cash and goodies.
10. Stage Performances: Get ready to dance, sing along, and be mesmerized by a lineup of talented performers who will keep the stage buzzing from opening to closing.
11. Mini Live ft. JKT48: Experience the magic of JKT48's live performance on stage, a treat for fans and a first for Malaysia.
12. ANIMANGAKI Idol: Join in the excitement as contestants compete in a singing showdown, vying for a prize pool of RM4,000.
13. Virtual World Record Attempt: Immerse yourself in the virtual realm and be a part of history by participating in a Guinness World Record attempt for the Most Users in a Concert Themed Virtual World.
14. Special Guests: ANIMANGAKI's lineup of special guests reads like a who's who of the ACG industry, including cosplayers, artists, musicians, and more. From HAKKEN, a cosplay superstar and model, to Yusuke Kozaki, a renowned character designer, and the sensational JKT48 idol group, the event promises a star-studded roster that's sure to delight fans of all ages.

1) HAKKEN
Hailing from Miri (Malaysia), Hakken’s fascination with cosplay began at an early age when they stumbled upon their first anime series. Captivated by the characters’ intricate costumes, Hakken was inspired to dive headfirst into the world of cosplay, and the rest after is history! Presently, Hakken is a superstar cosplayer, model and Tokyo Tourism Ambassador, amassing millions of loyal fans from around the world.
2) Yusuke Kozaki
Yusuke Kozaki is a character designer and illustrator from Japan whose notable works include “NO MORE HEROES”, the “Fire Emblem” series, “Pokemon GO” as well as Pokemon designs for the “Pokemon” series.
3) KEISUKE ITO
Hailing from Japan, Keisuke Ito loves to challenge music listeners to embrace the sounds of traditional instruments within modern compositions. One of his more popular ensembles and performance setups is that of 4 members, all playing their specialty Japanese traditional instrument – shamisen, koto, taiko drum, shakuhachi.
Any of his ensembles play a selection of traditional Japanese folkloric or traditional music as well as jazz or pop covers, and also original compositions. You may have heard some of his works in Naruto, Kemono Friends, Ensemble Stars, & etc.
4) JKT 48
JKT48 is the most popular idol group in Indonesia and the first international sister group of AKB48, the most successful idol group in Japan. It established in 2011, and has been active in Indonesia’s entertainment industry for over than 10 years. The group has their own Theater in Fx Mall in Jakarta, Indonesia, performing many wonderful shows regularly. Some of their well-knowned discography include Rapsodi, River, Heavy Rotation, and more.
JKT48 is strengthening their activities overseas starting in 2023 with the concept called #JKT48GoInternational
5) COMIX WAVE FILMS
COMiX Wave Films began in creative contracting and currently engages in animated movie production, distribution and package sales as well as overseas sales. We staff each step with a small number of highly skilled people, hoping to create works that will both fully display its creators’abilities and stand the test of time. Our mission is to work with imaginative artists to deliver heartfelt works to the world.
