[Entertainment News] Malaysian TVB artists shooting for Lunar New Year Music Video for the Year of Dragon

Kuala Lumpur, 2023 – Malaysian TVB artists have come together for the first time to shoot an eagerly anticipated Lunar New Year music video (MV) in celebration of the upcoming Year of the Dragon in 2024. This MV features eight emerging TVB talents, namely Jacy 陈玟蒽, Xair 彭诩越, Tyrell 刘泰麟, Zev 梁宸语, Vincent 陈泓升, Nicholas 叶洺宏, Jun 蔡承俊, and Jaytine 翁婕婷.

Xair 彭诩越 shared, "In reality, we started recording more than a week ago, and by that time, we were already fully immersed in the Chinese New Year atmosphere." The production team has ingeniously set up practical scenery inside the studio to minimize the sense of distance brought about by green screen backgrounds, thus authentically depicting the festive atmosphere of the New Year reunions.

Tyrell 刘泰麟 revealed that during the outdoor shoot, they experienced a delay due to rain, but luckily, the rain stopped quickly, allowing the production team to continue their work. 

Every Chinese New Year, people joyfully sing the familiar Lunar New Year song, "恭喜恭喜" (Congratulations), known for its lively melody and catchy lyrics, along with accompanying dance moves. The artists collectively express their intention to make this song the catchiest New Year anthem of the year. Jacy 陈玟蒽 disclosed that they plan to teach the dance portion of the song through short videos, encouraging everyone to participate and even tag them when they do.

For most of these artists, this marks their first involvement in producing a Lunar New Year song. Nicholas 叶洺宏, among them, expressed great delight at the opportunity, jokingly saying, "During the New Year, I'm going to loop this song at home." Jun 蔡承俊 also quipped, "During the New Year, I'm going to make my friends and family change their phone ringtones to our rendition of this song."

This Lunar New Year song, "恭喜恭喜" (Congratulations), also has a Cantonese version. Zev 梁宸语, another TVB artist from Malaysia, admitted that her proficiency in Cantonese is still a work in progress. She stated that her manager is quite concerned about this issue, saying, "Basically, I have to send voice recordings to my manager every day to consult on pronunciation issues. After all, my native language is Mandarin, so my Cantonese can be a bit awkward."

Xair 彭诩越表示：“实际上，我们在一个多星期前就开始录音了，那时我们已经完全进入了‘过年’的氛围中。”制作单位在摄影棚内巧妙地搭建了实景，以减少使用绿屏背景所带来的距离感，真实地呈现了新年团聚的热闹场面。

Tyrell 刘泰麟分享说，在户外拍摄中，由于下雨而耽误了时间，幸运的是雨停得很快，让拍摄团队能够继续工作。

每年春节，人们都会欢唱这首耳熟能详的贺岁歌曲《恭喜恭喜》。轻快的旋律和易于记忆的歌词，再加上有趣的舞蹈，使这首歌曲一直深受欢迎。艺人们齐声表示，他们要把这首歌曲变成今年最受欢迎的洗脑年歌。Jacy 陈玟蒽透露，他们还将以短视频的形式教授这首歌的舞蹈部分，鼓励大家积极参与，“到时候也可以标记我们”。

对于大多数艺人来说，这是他们第一次参与贺岁歌曲的制作。其中，Nicholas 叶洺宏表示非常高兴有机会参与其中，并开玩笑说：“新年时我要在家中循环播放这首歌。”Jun 蔡承俊也笑言：“新年时，我要让我的亲戚朋友将手机铃声都换成我们演唱的这首歌。”

这首贺岁歌曲《恭喜恭喜》还有粤语版本，另一位马来西亚TVB艺人Zev 梁宸语坦言她的粤语能力还不太流利，她表示这也让经纪人非常担忧，“基本上我每天都需要向经纪人发录音以咨询一些发音问题，毕竟我的母语是华语，所以我说粤语还有点生涩。”
