Rising star Emily Chua Jing Shuen 蔡瀞萱 has once again made her appearance on China's stage by participating in the popular interactive music variety show 'Come Sing With Me 我想和你唱 Season 5', produced by Hunan Satellite TV in China. In this season, she had the privilege to perform alongside Huang Qishan, affectionately known as "Huang Mama," and also encountered the Golden Melody Award-winning singer Penny Tai from her hometown.

In the episode aired last Friday night (March 29), Huang Qishan and Penny Tai were featured as special guests. Emily Chua, participating in the show for the first time, showcased outstanding performances. She started with a choir of a hundred people singing "《向云端》," gradually advancing through the rounds, and finally succeeded in progressing to the "three-to-one" singing segment with two amateur singers, 周巍 and 葛翰林. Their collaborative performance of "《我的美丽》" with Huang Qishan won warm applause from the audience.

During her interaction with Huang Qishan, Emily Chua expressed her fondness for the song "《是妈妈是女儿》," leading Huang to invite her to sing a piece on the spot. The duet that followed created a memorable "one-on-one" singing scene, filled with warmth. Huang praised Emily's vocal skills, saying, "You're quite something, singing in my range!" Overwhelmed by the compliment, Emily shyly responded, "I'm so scared!" which prompted Huang to give her a comforting hug. Emily also shared her experience of being exposed to Huang's music while still in her mother's womb, expressing her honor and astonishment at being able to perform face-to-face with Huang.

An amusing incident occurred during the show when Penny Tai, seated among the audience, suddenly identified Emily Chua as Malaysian and remarked on her noticeable Malaysian accent. Emily replied with a laugh, "I've been trying to disguise it." The interaction and Emily's subsequent search for the source of the voice elicited laughter from everyone present.

At the end of last December, Emily Chua Jing Shuen 蔡瀞萱, representing Malaysia, participated in the "《海的传说》" Season 3 New Year Poetry and Music Concert hosted by Sansha Satellite TV. Just three months later, she found herself again on the stage of a Chinese music variety show, feeling incredibly lucky and pleasantly surprised. She shared that her experience participating in the show was excellent, not only getting the chance to appreciate the live performances of Huang Qishan and Penny Tai but also to interact with other music enthusiasts, from which she gained a lot.

Emily Chua has a deep impression of Huang Qishan, mentioning that it was through her mother that she came to know Huang. She felt both excited and nervous about the opportunity to perform with Huang.
