[Upcoming Concert Event] Family Fun Day Mission Earth by Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) @ Dewan Filharmonik Petronas
Kuala Lumpur, 2024 – Join the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) on 4th May 2024 at 11.30 a.m. for a Family Fun Day concert at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC, and take part in an exciting musical offering.
Presenter Alasdair Malloy, a well-known figure in the MPO audience, will entice parents and young audience members to join a school trip from another galaxy that will approach and orbit the Earth with the mission to learn what the four colors that can be seen from space represent. The showcase will be themed Mission Earth.
Enjoyable tunes using the MPO will teach listeners about the planet's blue, red, white, and green regions as well as the incredible miracles of nature, like the existence of animals and insects and gorgeous sunsets.
Songs like Scott's The Penguin, Britten's The Storm, Mendelsohn's The Hebrides, Strauss's The Dragonfly and Also Sprach Zarathustra, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Tchaikovsky's Arabian Dance from The Nutcracker, Scott's The Penguin, and Portman's Sunsets from The Little Prince will all delight the audience. Malloy has arranged each song to create a concert of upbeat and motivational music.
Malloy frequently appears as a guest artist with the MPO in addition to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony, Opera North, and Sinfonia Viva. A specialist in glass harmonics, he has also performed throughout the USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and Europe, showcasing his incredible talent.
The concert is appropriate for adults and kids 4 years old and above, and it will be led by young, local conductor Jebat Arjuna Kee.
