[Concert Coverage] The Best Of KITARO LIVE in Malaysia @ Arena Of Stars, Resorts World Genting

Genting Highland, 2024 – On June 23rd, 2024, the Arena of Stars at Resorts World Genting came alive with KITARO's beautiful songs, as the Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning composer and performer returned to Malaysia after seven year since his last visit. The highly anticipated "The Best of KITARO Live in Malaysia 2024" tour brought music aficionados from all around the country, and the venue was packed with eager fans. The show was brought to us by Star Planet.

At 6:00 p.m., the 71-year-old Japanese maestro hit the stage, enthralling the audience with his distinctive blend of introspective synthesizer work and acoustic instrumentation. The concert presented KITARO's broad musical abilities, including environmental, instrumental, electronic, and folk music.

Throughout the evening, KITARO took the audience on an immersive musical trip, presenting renowned pieces from his broad repertoire. Audience were treated to beloved tunes like as "Silk Road" "Matsuri," "Reimei," and many more.

The performance was breathtaking, with KITARO's beautifully created compositions bringing the audience to a world of enchantment and introspection. His expert use of ancient Japanese instruments combined with modern electronic elements, created a tranquil and meditative ambiance that reverberated throughout the arena. 

The concert also felt like a journey through the universe as the background showed footages of galaxies, stars and other astronimical-related scenes.

Kitaro also paid a tribute to the late cantopop diva Anita Mui by performing a song he titled as "Anita Mui Song". Apart from that, Kitaro also enthralled the crowd with a surprising singing performance for the song "Imagine".

The event not only showed KITARO's enduring musical genius, but also his impact on generations.
